EXPERTISE
EXPERIENCE
2020-2021
Senior Capstone
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
As part of my senior year of undergraduate studies at OSU, I worked very closely with a group of other seniors to design, manufacture, and test an inverted pendulum. As part of this project, we were exposed to the non-technical side of the engineering design process, such as accurately verifying client needs and risk mitigation techniques.
2020-2021
Undergraduate Research Assistant
HOELZLE RESEARCH LABORATORY
After my junior year of undergrad, I joined the Hoelzle Research Laboratory as an undergraduate research assistant. I worked closely with a doctoral student to verify temperature prediction algorithms of metal-based 3D printing techniques.
2016 - 2019
Instructor
MATHNASIUM LLC
During high school and undergrad, I worked at a local franchise of Mathnasium, a national math tutoring company for K-12 students. I taught everything from basic arithmetic for kindergarteners up to BC Calculus for advanced high schoolers looking to get ahead on their studies.
EDUCATION
2021- Present
Master's in Robotics Engineering
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
After undergrad, I wanted to gain more rigorous expertise in Robotics. I recently joined the University of Michigan Robotics Institute as a Masters candidate. At Michigan, I attend classes and preform research with a focus in nonlinear controls and legged robots.
2017-2021
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Summa Cum Laude
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
At Ohio State, I majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. I also was the Mechanical Team Lead for the Underwater Robotics Team, raised funds for pediatric cancer research with BuckeyeThon, fed the greater Columbus community with Best Food Forward, and conducted research with the Hoelzle Research Laboratory. I made Dean's List in every semester and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.98 GPA.
2014-2017
High School Diploma
SYCAMORE HIGH SCHOOL
I attended high school in my hometown of Cincinnati, OH. There I was a 4 year member of the Marching Band, captain of the Quiz Team, and participated in the First Robotics First Tech Challenge as part of team Radical Six
CONTROLS
I have extensive classroom experience with control of dynamic systems, including basic PID control and advanced state space LQR control. I also have experience developing and deploying a controller to stabilize a real world highly non-linear system, the two-axis inverted pendulum. I have a particular interest in non-linear controls, and how to remove and account for sources of error in measurements.
PROGRAMMING
On top of the standard Mechanical Engineering classes, I independently pursued classes in the C++ course at Ohio State to broaden my skillset. I also have a working knowledge of Python from my Capstone project, and extensive knowledge of scientific data manipulation and visualization in MATLAB.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
As part of my Senior Capstone Design project, we were taught a variety of different project management tools and techniques, including budget tracking, deadline and progress tracking, and stakeholder analysis. I also learned these skills hands-on with the Underwater Robotics team, learning how to properly delegate tasks and funds to ensure a project if finished on-time and to everyone's satisfaction
